What's in the progress report? This section gives an overview of your performance for each of the assigned learning sets. It only shows information for completed learning sets. The graphs below show a side-by-side view of your speed and accuracy for each learning set section (blue bar), compared to your average speed and accuracy so far, for all completed learning sets (orange bar). If any of your quizzes were significantly slower or inaccurate, we will provide that information in the Outliers section. How are the metrics calculated? Speed Each section in the learning set has a pre-set expected time for completion. That time depends on the length of the audio/text or the number of words in the vocabulary section, as well as the number of comprehension questions in the section. Your speed is the difference between how long you took to complete the section and the expected completion time. As you complete more and sections, your speed averages will change, and you might see the speed indications for previous learning sets change slightly, as your global speed metric changes. Accuracy Accuracy is calculated simply by the number of correct vs. incorrect answers you gave for all completed sections. How can this help me? Both the accuracy and speed metrics come only from your own data. We do not compare you with other students. This section is intended to give you information about Learning Sets where you had trouble with the vocabulary, reading or listening sections. Remember, revisiting those sections will give you more learning opportunities and help you identify areas you need to improve. Don't be afraid to revisit completed learning sets. What to look for? As a general rule, look for the following situations: Sections where you were faster but less accurate than your average This can indicate that you overestimated your own understanding of the questions and your comprehension ability. Revisiting the section, reading through the transcript and question explanations will help you understand why you overestimated your ability. Sections where you were both slower and less accurate than your average This can indicate that you struggled with the section content in general. This can be due to difficult (or more complicated than usual) reading or listening passage, difficulty understanding the speaker (in listening passages), a lot of unknown vocabulary (in reading passages), etc. Revisiting these sections and understanding what you struggled with will help you solidify this knowledge. Sections where you were slower but more accurate than your average Although higher accuracy is great, there was something in those sections that slowed you down. It is worth revisiting these sections to identify why you were slower. Sections where you were faster and more accurate than your average Congratulations! These sections indicate you did great!
